General Manager, hotel alma university of calgary

Magdalena Goss is a hospitality veteran of 23 years and is currently the General Manager at Hotel Alma & Seasonal Residence at the University of Calgary, where she began in January of 2017. She has had the opportunity to work in multiple Canadian cities including Edmonton, Red Deer, and Toronto, as well as spending 20 years in Hotel Sales, gaining experience at Maclab Hotels & Resorts, CHIP Hospitality, Delta Hotels, and Fairmont Hotels.

Magdalena loves the city of Calgary because the community is resilient and adaptable to change. After experiencing 3 economic downturns in her 14 years of experience in Calgary, she has understood that we always find a way to bounce back and keep our “cowboy” spirit alive. She is passionate about her role within the University of Calgary because she can give back to the community. In 2013 during the Calgary floods and in 2016 during the Fort McMurray Fires, Hotel Alma University of Calgary hosted evacuees and were part of the Emergency Response group.

Sitting on the Calgary Hotel Association Board is important to Magdalena, because she has the opportunity to give back, and serve the CHA community.
